View from the European Parliament

Enforcement across borders is gaining momentum as a political issue in the European Parliament. Legislative activites show MEPs and civil servants have recognised the need for an improved framework for data exchange between member states and for a legal framework that enables enforcement action.


Facts & Figures

  • The South East (excluding London) accounts for 29% of FRV activity
  • Channel Tunnel & channel ports carry most of the FRV traffic entering and leaving the UK
  • The further a region is from the South East the lower its level of FRV activity
